Does anyone know if the plastic pipe (64-11-1-373-799) is interchangeable with the metal pipe (64-11-1-370-931) for the heater core pipes from the firewall? The metal pipe is NLA, and RealOEM says that the plastic pipe superceeds, but I'm not sure if they are exchangeable (RealOEM says not retroactive). Has anyone done this recently? What pipes did you use?

I did the heater valve and core recently. I had planned on ordering new pipes in the even mine were pitted, but like you I couldn't find any. Once I took it all apart my heater core pipes were in great condition and showed no signs of pitting or wear. I installed the new heater core, valve, o-rings on the original pipes.
