How to secure these center caps?

I've got Hartge 16x7.5 and want to find a way to secure the caps better than the way they are made (keep them from falling off, getting stolen, and maybe even make it harder to steal the wheels as a whole).

Here's how the caps come normally. I'm missing one of the tabs on this one.

My first thought was to tap the holes in the hub of the wheel and screw through the cap with some safety torx or something, but realized I would need to tap it to M10.

    Back to the drawing board.

Shitty picture of my baby as a whole:

    Shoot me some ideas guys.

I have a M10x1.5 plug tap if you need it. The wheels look great.

I've got a nice set of tap and dies, but the m10 just has too damn big of a head to use. I guess I should have mentioned that in the original post :).

And I LOVE these wheels. The ACs that you have were always a close second to me.

I need to find a few of you guys that are near-by so that I can ride on some different suspension set-ups. My struts are blown (bouncy-bouncy) and I want to figure out what I want before I pull the trigger. Its hard to have it both ways -- comfy daily with the occasional (although much less often as of late) fun trips.

Maybe make a lightweight bracket that attaches to the will-be tapped holes, that you can drill into and thread small little sheet metal screws into through the cap.

Not a bad idea at all! There is enough room in there to come up with a little bracket.
Thanks for the idea! I'll see what I can come up with.
