    Heater Core bypass question!

So i dont have time to replace my heater core but im tired or my floor being moist. Was just going to bypass it till i get some time and i wanted some imput. I was just going to go down to home depot and get an L shaped pipe and 2 hose clamps and call it a day.

    So, on with the questions:

    1. Is this method ok?

    2. What size pipe would i need? (or whats the diameter of the hose?)

That is not a good approach. Looping the heater hoses short circuits coolant flow that shoul be going through the radiator. The better approach is to plug each hose or clamp them off (small needle nose vice-grips work well for this).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I don't see how this can be true. The normal configuration of the cooling system around the heater core is a loop. Water in, water out. It's a loop. Cutting the heater core from the loop just makes a shorter loop. It's the same as having the heat turned off, no?

I ran looped lines at the track last year with no problems.

Yeah. He is implying you are taking hot water out of the "hot" side of the engine and dumping it into the "Cool" side. If you plug the hoses, it keeps the cooling system running as if the heater valve is not opened.

what should i plug them with? I thought there was a decent amount of pressure in there?

A solid copper/brass plug and a hose clamp.
