    Door gong / bong haywire...

Not sure where to post this... not sure what to search for... I think I might have a short somewhere... My door gong is a solid tone when the door is open. It doesn't 'beep'. Also, When I connect the Seatbelt wiring under the Driver Seat together, it causes the Door Chime to turn on randomly and sometimes won't stop until I unplug it. And finally, the Dome Lights don't light up when the Passenger Door opens but they light up when the Driver Side Door opens. Is it suppose to do this?
I have an '84 325e coupe manual... Thanks.

the wiring under the seat is a seatbelt sensor.

pull out your knee bolster, under the steering wheel where your knees are while driving. the gong is clipped to this take it out

I too have had this issue. I attributed it to a haywire seatbelt sensor, and have yet to actually fix the problem. A friend unplugged the seatbelt sensor and I haven't had any problems with the sound, but I've yet to figure out how to actually fix the sensor, just this temporary "fix."
