Glad he is having fun, but that sounds like a lawnmower compared to the S14.

His first race/debut with the BMW, well not 100% BMW but with the K20. Hope some day he can find/afford a race builded 2.0L sourced from Germany or elsewhere.
From min 8.20 or so gets more interesting, someone blew up his engine and the oil was the culprit he didn't win the last race.

Nice good to see the E30 beat still beating newer cars lol.
What are the engine regulations. Just thought I would mention that maybe a M42 with a custom crank could be a potent 2L if the funds allowed. The BTCC version put down something like 310hp limited to 8500rpm I am sure with a custom crank, bearing cradle it could easily see 9000rpm and maybe 320hp.
You can still buy S42 parts also. Like I said though all depends on the money.sigpic

Money is and is not a issue, lol....it will depend how much waffleswaffleswaffles sit cost at the end. A S42 I'm not sure how much goes. He can still use the S14 but it wasn't making much power like the K20 he has already. RPM is limited to 8300 or 8500 and no more of 12:1 of CR IIRC.Euro M3'87 NogaroSilver/Euro E34 M5 '93/Porsche 993 TT 97' Euro/Porsche 993 Carrera 95' Euro/Skyline R33 GT-R

Also consider the fact that the S42 replaced the 2lt race S14. So there must be something there that makes it better then the s14.
The only other option would be to source a N45B20S same engine they use in the current BTCC all alloy engine, with no valvtronic crap or vanos just a normal engine but all alloy. Just something for him to ponder.
One more thing if money is no issue then I would get these guys to build you an engine.

The have the recored for the most powerful N/A 2lt its a cosworth in an escort spinning up to 13,000rpm and putting out 450hp!!!! They are engineerings not mechanics, if you want a good engine they are your one stop shop.sigpic

A endurance race of 6 stright hours, he swapped the K20 over a K24? but soon enough, he blew up the engine because it overheated due the belt was broken somehow (debris on the road or who knows...)
The EVO's were open class btw...
