i need to pick up a new set of lenses for my e30 m3 foglights. anyone know the size of the foglights or where i could possibly pick up some new lenses? are they the same as early model fogs? dont have the car nearby to do a measurement of them.

The E30M3 fog lights are not the same as other E30's. They do show up on the Euro 6's and 7's. There is a left and a right lens and assembly.
Blunt has the best deal I've found for these items. He can get the lenses or the whole housing assembly that includes the lens and all. Closely inspect your housings, brackets, and retaining rings. If any of these are damaged, it may be cheaper to just get a complete assembly for the fog lamp.
I needed lenses, but then found a crack on one of my housings. I went ahead and ordered a new left and right assembly so I'll keep all the old stuff as spares. Now I just need to protect these shiny new lenses.
