Gauging interest in oem e30 m3 carpet

This is a feeler for those who have an interest in trying to obtain OEM BMW E30 M3 Carpet. I was speaking to my friend, the parts manager, at my local BMW dealership here in ATL, GA. I was discussing and ordering parts for my car and in that discussion I was asking about why the carpet is no longer available. He has the most updated parts list and he says that it is not NLA per se but that there is no stock. It means that if BMW AG or NA so happens to get enough orders they might queue it up until they get an amount they are happy with and will produce a batch.

There a few colors that shows up that is a possibility. Anthracite, Cardinal Rot(red), Havanna?(tan?) and Natural. The better bet would be Anthracite he said.

The retail is around $723.00 but he is willing to cut a small break if there is enough interest. But for just the interest alone he is willing to make calls to BMW AG and his contacts to see what it would take to get them to produce some.

Would there be enough interest from some of you to get this rolling?

My carpet is not too bad but I am willing to get a new one to keep or replace. I know when I was inquiring people told me I could not get new carpet(molded) for the M3. So I just dropped it then. But since my car is in the shop getting a complete respray and new moldings, etc. I thought why not ask.

He is willing to do some leg work if there is enough interest.

Please let me know so I can gauge real interest.

Count me in. In the mean time, I will continue to make that many trips to the junkyards. They are like $20-40 there, lol.

depends on how large the "small break" is. Shipping would probably up this deal to $900. I may have some interest but not enough to commit. Also, other than the iX, I'm pretty sure the M3 carpet is the same as any other late model coupe e30. it is still easy enough to find a used one in good shape for under $300 in grey.

I do no think the shipping would be that much. I have tried to locate a good carpet for the M3 and couldn't find one which led me down this path.

I am not an expert in E30's so I am not sure if there are no differences between the E30 M3 and Regular ones. When I inquired about it a while back someone from S14 told me they were different but I wasn't in the know to question it. It has been hard to locate for me.

I was able to get some other things in Germany from a contact over there so if the Carpet sets are the same then I can inquire about a small container if need be.

Is there someone that can say for 100% sure the carpet sets are the same? I thought the color of the carpet of Anthracite/Gray Black was for the E30 M3. I also thought the cut of the fabric was different?

Anyone want to chime in?

The M3 carpet is the same as e30 non IX non Vert.

If this doesnt pan out, I know of 2 brand new genuine carpets which are for sale.

re: e30 carpet

This is a very timely thread.

I've been on the hunt for a carpet for a while now. Found a good one in Germany and the guy won't ship to N.A. :(

Anyway, I'm looking for the M3, but I'm after the slate grey, i.e., the m-technik one that was on the sport evo.

If anyone knows of someone who can source it, private, oem or aftermarket, let me know.

I ordered an anthracite about 6 months ago. called the head of BMW Classic- and was told there are 34 already on back order and the carpets would be finished in about 2 weeks- they would then be inspected by BMW to see if they meet the standards. Well, I get no replys anymore on any updates for the last 4 months.
