in-tank fuel pump alternatives

Hello all,
My m3 needs a new fuel pump, and I was just delighted to see it is currently on back order from bmw. Does anyone know any alternatives that fit? part #16141179415

Chevy Vega fuel pump works great. Fits almost perfectly into the assembly in place of the old one, just use a couple of hose clamps to hold it. There are instructions out there.
