    S14 Slow Revving

Hey there, so I am looking for the S14 owners for help on this next issue. After driving the car a bit, I am noticing that the engine seems like it doesnt want to rev quickly. I hear a lot of noise from the front of the motor which appears to be the fan/waterpump? It sounds like a fan would on a hot day, some call is the bus going up a hill noise. The temp gauge is showing normal temps and is right in the center. I did the newspaper test with the fan clutch and it seems to be okay. I am mainly looking for suggestions. I will note that the fuel pump (next to the fuel filter) does tend to buzz pretty loud sometime and is good other times. I just had the fuel injectors rebuild and bench flowed (all looked good ). Please help! I want to enjoy the s14 without being concerned.

Can anyone explain to me how to check the fuel pressure and troubleshoot other parts of the fuel system?

Not sure if it'll help, but you can click the link in my signature to see my build thread and follow whats been done to the car since I got it.

    thanks in advance!

I tested the fuel pressure between the pressure regulator and the fuel rail, its measuring at 78psi when I pinch the hose before the fuel rail and fuel pressure gauge.

I tried to move the fan clutch and there is a little slop in it, maybe moves 1mm front to back.

I removed the power connector to the in tank feed fuel pump and it didnt seem to sound differently so tonight im going to run +12V to the pump with the car off and see if it makes noise.

Also I just realized the car has an innovate LC-1 wideband, after reading up on it, it appears this unit requires recalibration about every 6 months. I am going to confirm the wiring is correct and then recalibrate.

still trying to figure out why the slow rev speed/power.
