I could see adding to the crappy ride, didn't know the difference was that much.

Guess I will sell these and get different ones any input on set up to use definatly want to stay with coilovers.

Keep the fronts go with an E30 rear shock. Or ask Bilstein to custom make it to the same rates only shorter, they do custom work.

That would be an option as well but if I can get a kit made for my setup and valved for my e30 I'm sure my ride would improve alot.

Well just talked to bilstein today And since the rear shocks are adjustable they can not change the length of the shock.

So I'm shit outta luck with that idea.

Has anyone used the E36 for E30 coilover kit from ground control?? Any thoughts on that kit, if i were to go that way what spring rates would you suggest using.

The problem is the rear springs AND shocks.

E36 shocks are too long for a e30.

Also the spring rates for a e36 F/R are nearly the same because of its suspension design.

For a e30 to retain proper handling the rear rates should be 40-50% stiffer in the rear than the front rates assuming a square wheel/tire setup.

PSS9's aren't very good on a e36 IMO, and I can imagine they are downright awful on a e30 since the rates are all jacked up.

I run their bastard kit. I like it. I would recommend camber plates (I have vorschlag) and tms camber spacers (washers to space out the strut from the knuckle to give you more camber). I have 450/700 rates and have max camber up front with -3.5 and just running -2.5 out back. I haven't touched the shock adjustments yet as gc is supposed to set them about right out of the box.

Am I understanding that the front e36 spring/shock is too long as well?

Or, do camber plates add enough travel?

front e36 m3 bilsteins are good to go with e30 springs.

If you went with e36 lowering springs and shocks, than .5" shorter camber plate will be needed to have it look just right...
