    Noob Questions

Alright. Well as some of you know I picked up a new car that already has a 5 lug swap done. Its 318ti rears and 325is fronts with m3 control arms.

It currently is on Bilstein Sports with Ireland engineering Stage 3 springs. Im intrested in converting to coilovers for adjustability. Im planning on keeping the same struts and using the ground control conversion. I already emailed them about if I could buy a muized set so i didnt end up with 2 full sets of springs and have to sell what I dont need. I heard somewhere that the sport struts are only good to like 400 lbs spring rates? True? I dont anything stiffer then the IE3, i just want adjustability.

Also, if i go with 16x8 or 15x8 wheels, what offset will I need with this setup?

    Thanks guys!

That will fit a 318/325 setup?

This is what is affectionately called the "Bastard" kit here at Ground Control.

A basic Coilover kit is also available.

Im either looking for the coilover conversion kit, or low budget e36 coilovers.

For example (I dont think im going to cheap out this bad) but would a generic e36 setup work?

                      up!!!!

I guess what im asking is will normal e36 coilovers work on a 5 lug swapped car. Will e36 rears fit into the e30 spring perches.

I are being answered over and over...

Z3... M-coupe/M-Roadster... You can ask multiple times, but you have e36 front end and trailing arm rear. That's a z3 platform suspension and that's what you should go with. Generic GC e36 kit will fit e36m3 front tubes and will fit like a glove in the rear.

Also, if you go with 8" wheel, you'll need at least 35mm offset and with that you'll be able to run max 225 tire. Staggered m3 wheels with rear offset +50, I was able to run 245/40 without any rub.

Although E30 and E36 kits are similar, the rear adjusters are different.

E36 rear adjusters are "bolt in" and are not intended for the E30 trailing arm.

Are the upper mounts on the body the same? And is there a difference between 325 and 318 rears as far as coilover options?

The upper mounts are the same, as well as the ti trailing arms.
