Alignment issues with e35 5-lug? Maxed out alignment?

OK - so I know caster is a prolbem - but somewhere I got the impression that with a 5-lug e36 style swap, you end up maxing out your suspention settings just to make it all work - is that true?

    thanks!

    e36 5 lug alignment

nothing changes in the rear, so i assume you are talking about the front. i have heard others talk about using camber / caster plates on top of (or in lieu of ) the e30 strut bearing caps. with e30 bearing caps, you will max out the adjustment of the plates to get it within camber specs.

however, i used the e36m3 bearing caps and modified them. ground off the studs, redrilled holes at desired location, welded on studs. once you get the camber within specs, you can use washer shims on the knuckle / strut bolts to get more camber. turner sells the kits, but you can also make you own.

email me and i can forward a pic of the modified bearing cap.

    cheers, jason
