Will E36 M3 shocks work on E30 rear set up?

I'm doing a 5 lug swap on my E30 and came accross a set of Koni Sport adjustables off an E36 M3 and was wondering if it will work with the 318ti trail arms I'm installing? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

I think they are similar but you will have to change the top hats, but im not 100% sure. Im sure someone will chime in with a for sure answer.

IIRC they are too long, but GC do sell raised RSM's so they can be used. V.hazy memory of this

The E36 shocks are too tall for the E30. They will "work" but not ideal.

excellent. Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll stick with the E30 shocks when completing conversion. Thanks all!!

I had a set of e36 koni's on the back of my vert for a while, never bottomed them out but I was just on e30 m3 springs. Even H&R sports are considerably lower, never tried that combo though, got the proper e30 shocks. Shock mounts are identical though.
