e30 vs e36 tie rod lengths . . . or???

Does anyone know if there are shorter tie rods available from a different car? Anyone have a comparison of tie rods?

Working on two cars with the same problem. Both cars have the tie rods 1/4" too long.

Both cars have:
97 knuckles
97 control arms
ast 5100 coil overs
both cars have e30 tie rods
(1) with a z3 steering rack
(1) with a stock e30 steering rack

You should be running e36 tie rods with your z3 rack. The e30 ones are not the same.

make em shorter.

thread on a cutting die, zip cut the extra off, back of the die making the threads perfect again.
