    5 Lug conversion- springs question

Hey everyone, I had a couple questions about the 5 lug set up im putting together. I basically have everything I need except springs, i was planning on running E30 H&R sport or race springs all around. However the used E36M Bilsteins sports i picked up for the front came with a set of H&R E36M3 race springs. I was planning on selling/trading these for E30 H&R springs but im curious if these will work fine with my set up?

My set up is E36M3 bilsteins sports up front with e36m3 control arms and brake set up, E30 Bilstein sports in the rear with ti trailing arms and brake assemble, e39 style 5 wheels.

Any info would be appreciated, or if someone is looking for e36m3 H&R race springs to trade for E30 springs shoot me an offer. Thanks!

I would recommend you search, this has been discussed 19500 times. You want E36 springs F.

I tried searching through the whole 5 lug section couldn't find any info if someone was using those specific springs on a similar 5 lug set up as mine. Its not that I particularly want to run E36M springs I was just asking bc I already have the H&R race ones, if they didnt work I'd just pick up E30 springs. Sorry about my weak search skills, ill keep looking, If anyone knows of a thread where this is discussed any info or link would be cool.

springs are springs, the brand does not matter. All that matters is what car they are designed for.

e30 front springs can be run on e36M3 front struts. E36 non-M springs cannot be used on e36M3 front struts. It's not just a case of spring is a spring. The pirch was designed for a certain coil shape/diameter.....otherwise why don't all springs look like Eibach ERS? If talking about a coilover front...then yes, spring is a spring as they are standards with a couple commonly found spring dimensions.

Are you worried about the front sitting too high? Whats the springrate difference between the e30/36M. Otherwise run the e30 stuff once you trade. Obviously maintain the e30 upper mount/spring pirch.

This is the exact setup I personally used. See my thread in this subsection.
