Difference between Z3 and M Z3 trailing arms

Okay so I have so far compiled all four M Z3 brake calipers and rotors and front e30 M3 Hubs.Still need to get sbi front kit.

Question on the rear though. Cant source M Z3 trailing arms but have plenty of offers on trailing arms from Z3 2.8 . What is the real difference between these and the M spec. Will the M Z3 spec rotors and calipers bolt up to the Z3 2.8 trailing arms/hubs?

They should be interchangeable, but the M spec ones have a couple of reinforced areas. The non-M ones are pretty much the same spec as E30 arms.

according to jordo, they are completely different arms ( just double checked and they're different part numbers). I guess the bearing housing is larger in the mz3, which is why you cant use the mz3 output shaft and bearings in a normal trailing arm.

As far as brakes, I think you'll be stuck with the tiny z3 brakes, unless you want to engineer a setup using wilwood components, or somethign similar (my plan using m3 trailing arms).

Nothing on the non-m arm and M arm (brakes included) can be swapped.

Either or man.

PS. We have a set of 1.9L Z3 rear arms complete with brakes etc here at TSA if you would prefer something local.

yeah I was hoping otherwise. Ill think about those Z3 units Jordan as Id much rather drive to Austin instead of Houston.PM me price info.
