Are Z3M axles interchangeable with any other model?

Bought Z3M coupe trailing arms for cheap but they did not come with axles. Does anyone know if you can use a different axle with the M rear stuff? I have heard E36 M3 axles would work but don't want to find out the hard way that they don't. Can anyone chime in?

The part numbers don't interchange but the axles do. You're going to need to swap the diff flanges too. You can use the MZ3 flanges, E36 M3 flanges, or even E28 flanges I believe.
