    Will this work?

struts - e36 coilovers (BC Racing)
    spindles - e36 (M or non-M?)
control arms - e36 M3 (to correct for offset)
CABs - e30 M-spec (Treehouse) (to correct for caster)

    possible problems:

    - I read somewhere that e36 struts are taller than e30, so when you adjust / 'lower' the coilovers to a desireable ride-height, you've basically sucked up all your suspension travel in the process. Can anyone with e36 struts comment?

    - what spindle - M or non-M? I saw somewhere there are different offsets

    - I also recognize the camber plates will need to be e30 not e36, so I'm hoping BC Racing will be able to help me out with that

    thanks for the input,
    - Colin

You need M3 spindles 100% but otherwise your list looks good.

I had Tein E36 M3 coilovers on my old 5 lug E30 and adjusted all the way down it still got pretty low! Unless you're a "stance" kind of guy I think you'll be able to get the drop you're after out of the E36 coilovers.

      Thanks for the reply.

No, I'm not a stance guy. I'm looking to run 17s and more or less 'fill' the wheel well with rubber. Coilovers are all about ride quality and the 5-lug is all about aesthetics. Spend money once, right?

I had 17x9 on my car with 235/40 tires. That wheel and tire setup combined with E36 M3 front and Z3M rear suspension was amazing!
