5 Lug conversion completed, Still having problems. Help!

As the title states, the 5 lug has been completed for some time, but I haven't had time to do much to the car since. I've moved and now has started to work on it again.

For those that don't know my set up, I have e36 M3 front and 318ti rear. Currently, I am running e38 Styles 5 with 205-50-16 and I am rubbing in the inside (pictures 1) as seen in the picture. I am also using e36 M3 struts with e30 perches.

I also have some concerns, please take a look at my pictures and give me some ideas of what am I dealing with here.

I take criticism well and yes I've researched the problem and have taken into consideration and tried spacer and still rubbing.

    Thanks!

I thought this was not suppose to be straight at all.

Get wheels with an appropriate offset, or switch to E30 M3 parts.

      Which ones do you recommend?

...or lower profile tyres (45's say).

Higher offset rims (such as OE E36 ones) will scrub less (move fore/aft relative to the steering axis) than the low offset wheels you have.

I almost think I need to move the front wheels forward, maybe needing camber plates. If you notice the pictures, the rims are not center on the fender, they are more towards the back. IMO that's why it's rubbing. What do you think?

Offset control arm bushings will help with clearance from the rear. Still won't change the fact that those wheels should never be used with E36 suspension components (roughly equivalent to running ET0 on stock E30 parts), and on top of not fitting, absolutely look like ass that way.

The pictures posted are with 12mm spacers which in fact you are right, it looks like ass.

I'm confused there are other using the same set up on mines and are able to use the rims with no problems.

Can you confirm you're using 96+ E36 M3 control arms AND offset control arm bushings?

spacers are only going to make the rubbing issue worse. leave them off, and be prepared to clearance with a BFH and pull the fenders if you want to use these wheels.

otherwise, yeah, get something with an e36-appropriate offset like Nick said.

edit: if you bought everything OEM, you might still need the right bushings...

Honestly I'm not sure at all. It was such a long time ago that I installed them. I probably did it wrong.

Take a brief look under, the control arm to bushing connection location in the lolly-pop should be towards the outside of the car... but your setup is centered, your issues as some stated are:

Spacers are exaggerating the swing of the steering = more rub. The wheel will hit the front caliper retaining spring when the spacers are removed, some shave it or do without it but I personally wouldn't recommend as pads will flap around as you drive.

The wheels, E36 stuff increases track, good for handling but must increase offset, 8" rims with +23 offset is just past the limit, again exaggerated by the spacers. This is why I opted for the 16x7.5 ET20 from an E31, tucks things a bit. E38 had the same size in the style-15 and another slotted rims but very hard to find.

E38 750IL rims at 16X8 ET23 (two rim designs that mimic Alpina) should clear the calipers with out spacers.. need verification.
