I have 18mm adapters but I'd like thinner spacers to poke a little less.

what wheels spec that you will running on?
If you want to use square tire same as mine,
its gonna be maximum +12mm front and +14mm rear wider than stock
and running 15x7 et20
So if convert it to stock e30 offset, around 7" wide with et 6-8
with stock rolled fender

any 84+ e30 trailing arm

the early trailing arm has a smaller wheel bearing, same size as the e36 318i.

Z4 hubs can be bought off salvage cars. I got a pair for $100. Find a dude selling parts off a Z4 on ebay - they're not gonna list the hubs, but most of the time they will say "Contact us if you need any other parts off the car"

how to make sure the part number is correct? is it from year and model?
as I remember there no part number mark on hubs

Yes, its cheaper...
about the same offset, if you use e36 front hubs setup

Yeah, year and model. It's easy here in the US since I believe all non-M Z4s (pre-current retractable hardtop generation) all have the same hubs IIRC. Your mileage may vary.
