Hey guys.
I found out while replacing my springs a few weeks ago that the person who did my 5 lug swap two owners ago redrilled a pair e36 m3 strut mounts to correct excessive negative camber, rather than using e30 strut mounts and camber spacers to gain negative camber.
My problem is that the strut mounts need replacing. The bearings feel quite clunky and one of the welded in bolts stripped and two others fell out (poor welding job on their part).
I'd like a set of GC camber plates, but they have a claimed drop of 12 mm compared to e30 stock mounts, which would be too much with my newly installed H&R Race springs. If e36 m3 stock mounts are shorter than e30 ones, I'll have no problem.
What would you guys suggest?
I'd rather not buy more e36 m3 mounts just to have to grind off the bolts and redrill them like what's currently on my car, but I'd like to retain the amount of negative camber that I have.
