So most guys just run e36 struts in their 5 lug swap, but it has beens said that they are a bit too tall, and are prone to bottoming out.
How much "too tall" are they ?
I saw a few of you had cut the e36 housings and shortened them, and welded e30 housing tops to them so you can put strut inserts in them and have a nut up top to hold it all together... But I don't have a scrap set of e30 housings to steal the upper parts.
Is there anywhere that I can get something that can be welded to the top and effectively turn the e36 strut Into a threaded "e30 style" housing?
ALSO... I found out that Z4 M front struts are e36 style (where they attach to the knuckle) but they are a bit shorter than normal E36 struts..
I need to do some digging and figure out the height differences but I think I can just run a z4 m front strut
