Quick Help.... About to make a purchase...

Hey guys, i've decided to go the super cheap budget route on piecing together my 5 lug. For the front i want to go with e36 325is parts. I'm about to pull the trigger on a whole front assembly but i want to get my facts strait before i spend $150 bucks. I want to re-use my H&R sport springs that are currently on my e30, and i know i can only use e36 M3 shocks to do this.

So i can pair the e36 325is stuff with e36 M3 shocks right? I'm basing this info on this thread (1st page somewhere in the middle).

you can use the springs from your e30 if you want as long as you re-use the spring hats from the e30.

yeah but i have to use e36 m3 shocks on the front right? I thought i couldnt use the e36 325is struts with e30 springs. So do you know if the M3 shocks will bolt up to the e36 325 hubs?

You can use regular non-M spindles with mw struts .

But for your E30 springs to work you have to use 95 M3 struts as they use the same diameter/style as E30 springs .
Then you mount your E30 upper mount to bolt them to the car .

Either way it seems like a train wreck wioth you going into this blind .

Thanks for the reply and the info. This confirms for me some of the info I have already found, although I'm pretty sure that clavinzero used his e30 springs and '97 m3 struts. Anyone else care to chime in?

As far as me going "blind" into this, I find that a little unfounded don't you? I have installed bilstein sports and springs, and hub bearings in the last 3 bmws I've owned. Trying to confirm some of the things I've read in the 6pgs of this section I feel is far from "blindness."
