Springs for 97 M3 front struts?

Can I use existing 1990 325is lowering springs?

If not, will the springs meant for an e36 318is fit the m3 struts?

You can use regular e30 diameter springs on e36 m3 struts. the regular e36 springs are too wide and wont work with the e30 strut mount and the m3 struts.

        Hope that makes sense LOL

Yes and No. E30 and 96+ m3 use same diameter springs. Can use late m3 springs, e30 springs, m3 spring caps, or e30 spring caps.

Personally I'm running 98 m3 struts, e30 m3 springs, everything up top is e36 m3 including swapped offset strut hats in redrilled shock towers. Got 10* of caster, had like 0* of camber when I got it aligned though. I did just swap the strut hats like e36 m3 guys do, supposed to be good for at least 1* of camber, and i shimmed the strut out .10" on the bottom, looks like I have at least 2* negative now, have to get it realigned.
