    e32 wheels on e36 5-lug?

    hello fellow 5-luggers.

i recently bought an e30 with the e36 m3 5-lug swap (w/ 318ti rear). the current wheels are the car are MOMO Mirages, 16x7.5, which have a +35 offset, which is a hair too low because the rear rubs even with rolled fenders when there is a load in the rear. i have been shopping for wheels, but can't really find anything i like with the appropriate offset. The one set of wheels that I could get for a reasonable price that i really like are the e32 weaves 16x8, which have something like a +20 offset.

I know a bit about this wheel offset thing, and as i understand it that's a difference of 15mm, yes? it doesn't seem like a huge difference.

Are there any negative consequences to just flaring the fenders slightly and fitting these low offset wheels to the car?

Is there a way to safely increase the offset of the +20 offset wheels so they fit with less fender modification?

am i just dreaming here? i would really love to fit some BMW wheels to my car.

Thank you all so very much in advance. I really appreciate this great resource called r3v, and i hope that one day i can begin to give back to the community somehow with the little knowledge i have regarding all this technical stuff.

the lower offset wheels will poke out further towards the outer wheel arch. more than likley they will rub.
        i run a 47mm offset with no issues on a 17x8 rim. 225/35 rubber.

You need to use e36 offset wheels, 30-40, or modify your fenders more to be able to use other wheels. Those 16x8 style 5's you are talking about (?) are et23 offset.

wouldn't it be possible to get the inside of the wheel hub of the e32 wheels to raise the offset letting them go in abit more?

eh, it wont be worth the effort to run those 16x8 e32 wheels on e36 suspension. i vote just run the beyern wheels. they look pretty good.
