My plan is E36 M3 front brake system and 318ti rear. for those who have this set up what are you running? I know some are running GC coilovers. Could I run e36 non m struts? rear suspension? yes I've searched but not everyone post up their setup. Looking for all option thanks

m-coupe front and rear here with billy sports (fronts are from a 93 325 and have the sway bar tabs on them like the m3 units, they also cost a bunch less then the m3 units, i posted the part# for them in this section a couple threads down from this one) and H&R sport springs, IC front sway bar and a 15mm rear (i think but its been a while since i built it) custom made rear bar, front knuckles shimmed for more camber, 3.2 turn rack and some other crap i can't think of at the moment. breaks free pretty much neutral at autocrosses with a slight tendency to push that you can combat with the throttle and or tire pressure, the only other plan i have for the suspension would be to replace the rear shocks for some adjustibles if i can find some externally adjustible units

I've got 94 325i fronts, 318ti rears, GC 440/700 suspension, e36 325i manual rack, tms steering stops and front camber spacers, vorschlag camber plates, IE rear camber and toe adjusters. IC front sway bar, m3 rear with IE chassis mounts, rs4pro3 sway bar links (stock up front for now). Everything has poly bushings, there is no rubber left in the suspension (except ball joints, but those don't really count).
Winfred, you can get mustang rear Koni's that are top adjustable, but you will need a diff upper mount that is available many places, I have a set from tms.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

I believe I picked a 98, but I think they are the same from like 85-04ish. Let me check.
Edit: I now think it's the 94-04 shock: pn 8041-1186sport. I think this is right, but I'm not 100% positive.Last edited by e30_325es; 12-25-2008, 09:52 PM.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Ahhhh in that case....
Here is mine and IMHO e30 //M3 is the only way to go as well. To many variables the other way to get it close to being right.

how harsh is the ride on that spring rate? Is it a track only or also street driven e30? I already have an E36 M3 front and 318ti rear. trying to get the whole setup togather. thoughts on aftermarket trailing arm bushing or is it just waste of money? This is my occasion weekend driver e30.

I don't daily drive my e30, but currently drive it on the street (but only like 1 or 2 times a month). It's quite harsh, as in grit your teeth on bumps harsh, but that could just be me. I know that there are quite a few people daily driving these spring rates.
I'd recommend AKG ta bushings. I have IE's and i'm on my second set, as the first wore out. I would not do stock bushings as they have more give to them (they will shift in mid-turn) than poly or delrin bushings. Same goes for subframe bushings.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

alright I got my suspension togather.
95 M3 front brake setup ( hub, spindle, caliper/carrier, rotors )
98 M3 control arms
Tree House Racing Eyeball
95 ti trailing arms ( trailing arm, hub, spindle, caliper/carrier, rotors )
GC 440/700 coilovers w/ camber plates ( e36 strut for e30 kit)
IE green sub frame bushing
IE street trailing arm bushing
98 M3 steering Rack
17" E46 325ci wheels ( had it laying around, will change later )
Cost over $3k for this shit, if anyone wanted to know. no short cut taken at all except for used parts.
I shouldn't have been reading R3v. Got me spending money. I will post a build thread of my E30 S50 supercharger with 5 lug conversion. ( In progress )
How wide of a tire can I go if I don't roll fenders and how wide can I go when I do roll fenders????? Anyone????Last edited by k5gsxr1000; 02-02-2009, 09:59 PM.

camber will difinitely affect how much rubber can go in there up front... I am running 215/40R17 on my swap, with next to no negative camber up front.
When I get my camber plates that may change.
I think Jordan ran 235's up front at one point... fender rolling will most likely be needed for that tho.
Good luck.

I have 235/40/17 all around. For the kook z211 's i had to roll the fenders pretty good, also nt01. but street tires in 235/40s maybe some slight rolling, but for the most part i'm clear. it could also be because i squeezed them onto a 7.5" rim. 4x100 fails at wide.
I also daily GC 400/650 with konis and camber plates...all akg urethane underside cept for powerflex CABs. Every once and awhile I need to jump into one of my other stock e30s and cruise around cause it does get a little bumpy.
