Ti TA with drums Worth anything???

I can get 2 sets froma local junkyard one with drums and the other without brakes. Don't know if they are disk or drum. Are these worth getting for $180 a set? Just wondering. Thanks

there were such 318ti's with rear drums? I can't even check if the part number on the hub would be the same... I'd check if hubs are the same part number...

In reality, I'd say no, they're not worth it, but I'm not in Germany.
    1. Why the hell would anyone install 5-lugs to have drum brakes?
    2. After paying $180, you'll be trying to source brakes.

Just pay $250 somewhere and get complete trailing arms.

I highly doubt any 318ti was available with drums. Most likely they would come from an 1985-1985 318i
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

i was thinking the same thing, I don't see how BMW would allow drum brakes on e36, but then again, they did put solid front rotors on

Some did come with drums. It might have been a 316ti. Here

The second set is already pulled off and has no brakes on it. Don't know if they are drums or disks. I can look closer next time I go up there.

Next time I go I will. Probably won't be this week. I'll post them up when I get some.

the majority of the "compacts" in Germany are unfortunately DRUM brake cars. I would say they are worth NOTHING!-- there is nothing that is usable on them.

well wait a second, put a pic of those hubs or measure them. You may have stumbled upon an interesting alternative.

why would anyone in the world want drum brakes!!! its just like the euro 320i e30s-- they had drums too--- the best thing you could do for those cars was to change out the rear control arms for discs.-- all e36 316i and318i cars have drums too.

In North America, the last BMW equipped with drums was the 1984-1985 318i. But let's remember that NA's BMWs are all over-optionned too. No way to get stripped down BMWs.

I'm not thinking about brake setup. Just hub dimensions.
