Help: Rear spring ate the CV axle boot

There's something wrong with the right rear spring on my 87 325is. It is "sagging to the rear of the car" in the lower middle part of the spring, and has torn away part of the CV axle boot as a result. It is the standard 'is' spring and the driver side one does not have the same problem.

Anybody know if this is a spring problem or an installation problem? Previous owner recently replaced all rear subframe bushings and the springs were probalby removed and installed again at that point.

Who is the spring manufactured by? Sounds like a spring problem, not an installation problem, unless something is SERIOUSLY bent in the suspension.

Hard to say, I thought it might be the original bmw is springs on the car, but the shocks have been changed to Bilsteins, so who knows. I'll try to get a better look next week but chances are identifiying the springs will be a tough one.. they just look generic black.
