What does the "A" mean on the strut tower?

I've seen a painted "A" on some strut towers and it's on mine too, but what does it mean?

For clarification look at Heeter's (rwh11385) signature.

it means those cars are zweitewahle. they are production blemmish cars, so they sent them to the U.S.!!!!!!! your car is probably welded crooked from the factory.

on the real, it was prob. a inspectors stamp from the factory, they probably only did spot checks, so not all got the stamp.

I think its got to do with the cars model. Look on the tire sticker, my tower had B on it, and the tire sticker says 318is/324td/324d HTH
