Bench bleeding new MC?

I hear people talking of it but the bentley just says to put the MC on and pop on the resevior and fill it with fluid and bleed the system. Is that all I have to do?

Also any local parts store carry ATE type 200? Im a little low on stock.

master cylinder? as in the one that goes under the steering column? well, anyime you remove a component, you should bleed the system.
