    It's merely a trade-off at this point.

I guess better pads could effectively enhance my braking ability with plain rotors, rather than getting Pagid pads w/ the ATEs?

I don't plan on doing a lot of heavy braking, since auto-x season is a while away. The only time I'll be cramming the brakes is when I'm on the highway and I need to stop... fast. Hence I was considering the ATEs...
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
    Mark: "You never will."

Pagid or Jurid (I've got Textars) pads are all fine, and Balo or Brembo blanks. I was able to get Brembo blanks for 20 bucks apiece, so I went with those. To my knowledge most aftermarket pads that perform significantly better than those will have compromises (i.e. noisy, dusty, and sometimes worse cold performance). Besides, any pad will easily be able to lock up your wheels, which is really all the power you're looking for in a panic stop situation. Better pads will have more "bite" and will resist fade better, but you won't notice much of a difference when you're just standing on the middle pedal until you're stopped.

That's is probably the best reasoning I've heard all day.
