    Rear Camber is whack...

so... im pretty upset about this...

i let my frend take my e30 out for a spin the a couple weeks ago. long story short, he ended up smacking a curb on the passenger side with the rear leading in. cracked both basketweaves and snapped a tie rod. diff and axles are fine.

now... the tie rod was replaced on now i have some basketweaves on the car on all 4 corners and got an alignment done in the front becasue we all know the rear is not adjustable.

the front is perfectly fine, however... the back is completley whack! i have way too much neg camber on the driver side ( more than usual)and its almost a full degree difference postive on the passenger rear. city driving the car pulls to the right, 60+mph it pulls to the left. at first i thought maybe the passenger trailing arm was bent but now im skeptical as it may not be the problem.

visually, there is nothing bent... the subframe looks fine, RTA's look fine... im puzzled

heres some pics of the alignment. also of the camber on the rear wheels while its up on the lift. you can see the difference in camber.

    any ideas?

Worn RTABs could easily explain the excessive negative camber on the driver's side. Especially if the car has aftermarket springs and a lower ride height.

The problem with the passenger wheel is, at the least, a bent trailing arm. it may not look bent, but it is. The subframe could be bent, but that requires a huge hit and the chances of that being the case are very slight.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I have a whole rear end (subframe/trailing arms/etc) if you want to come to VA and get it :)

      Status: HG repair. 488wtq though!

haha, thanks for the offer. i picked up a trailing arm for the pass side not too long ago. just have to find time to replace it now.

anyone have suggestions for performance RTAB's?

PowerFlex urethane bushings for the rear trailing arms and subframe (do 'em both). Bimmerworld has the PoweFlex bushings in street and race (stiffer) grades. Adjustable (eccentric) urethane bushing are available, but aligning the rear with those is rather a pain and they tend to drift. If you want adjustability a much better solution is the IE weld-in kit.

imo IE camber/toe adjustment weld in kit and stock rubber trailing arm bushings. Poly in trailing arms tend to bind.

just bought a weld in kit and Power-flex RTAB's and Sub-frame bushings. This gonna be a problem? Tend to bind......?
