    rear subframe reinforcement solutions

so im aware that weld in reinforcement kits exist for the e36s, but there is no such thing for the e30. as far as i know, subframe failures arent common on e30s, but im just checking to see if anyone on here has come up with a homebrew solution.

thread showing my subframe failure: http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=156169

Did you figure out how/why it failed? From the pictures it looks like the lower side mount (the one with 2 bolts) was disconnected, possibly the issue was there first and then the anchor bolt area failed from all the weight on it?

I've suspected it's the other way around. That bottom mount seems thin and flimsy, and likely broke as a consequence of the upper mount failing..
whichever way I have to at least replace the bottom mount and weld the top mount back in. But nearly every single piece of rubber within the suspension as well as the shocks and wheels need replacing for the car to drive as it should.
really getting down about this car, kind of want out with it. I guess that's old cars for you, though. and I guess I'll admit Im a bit rough with it. :P

same thing happened to my last e30... push the subframe back up with a small floor jack... get a large hardened steal washer cut it in half and trim it to fit under the post. then mig weld it in.... this is what i did and drove the shit out of the car on the track... never had a problem... i would always just keep my eye on it.

I herd they were common actually but it was from a tow truck guy since mine broke to but I would ust get out your welder and get a thick metal and start bracing it I'm sure you couldnt do any damage doing that unless somethin is in the way but that is prob your best bet
