How to remove the ebrake end, near handle.

Im replacing e brake cables while doing subframe bushings. Everything is removed from the rear.

I learned that the end of the ebrake cable is rusted to the tube which goes to the ebrake handle. What is the best way to remove this piece thats stuck in the tube? Ive tried grabbing with vice grips but i am bending the little support tabs which hold the rest of the tube. I have air tools, anything you guys recommend? Also have a torch, but i have been starting small fires in my undercoating...

Dang that sucks. Might try threading a screw in there a little and giving a tug after you shoot some PB blaster.

I removed it, torch and vice grips tackled it in about 30 seconds. Without the torch, it would have never happened.

That midwest rust is a bummer. I once bought a car from Minnesota, had to work to get past the undercoat, then found all the rust under it. Yay....

yea, i hate rust with a passion. It makes working on cars so much harder. My Baur has never seen snow or salt, so it is not rusty. This 325is however, has been winter driven its whole life, and it shows.
