Was wondering if anyone might have come across the same problem...
Recently I replaced the master cylinder because of a very soft/spongy pedal feel, coupled with little to no effect stopping power. After install, I bled the brakes and although pedal pressure increased greatly (to the point of stiff), the car's stopping force sees only a little improvement, and I am not able to depress the pedal more than 1/4 of travel distance.
Kinda wierd, so I replaced the brake booster. -Same thing. At low(er) speeds, the car stops okay with little brake pressure, but I cannot stop abruptly with force, as with my other M42 sedan. Any ideas as to what's causing the stiff pedal/poor braking distance?
Thanks!
