    Control arm bushings

OK, Ive searched this one to death, and still dont have the answer I want. I need to replace the control arm bushings on my car. It is a stock ride height 87 325 with AC.
I am kinda torn between the stock bushings (open type) and the e36 solid type bushings. I would maybe consider the M3 offset bushings if there was a good compelling reason for them. From what I understand they are beneficial if you have or are planning to lower the car, I am not planning to alter the ride height, so are they of limited use, or should I stick with centered units?
I have read (on emotech) that the e36 bushing is better. Does it use the same lollipop as the e30? if so, I would rather go with a solid type bushing for durability. If I have to start swapping a bunch of shit, im not really interested though. What is the experience of the board here?

Offset bushings increase caster, which improves high speed stability. That is helpful on track cars that see triple digit speeds, but not really necessary on a street car, but stability at highway speed is slightly improved. Whether to use offset bushings or not has nothing to do with whether the car is lowered.

Solid bushings will firm up the steering slightly, but there will be a slight increase in NVH. Either solid or open types can be used with the E30 lollipops.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks, I dont mind a small increase in NVH if the bushings are likely to be more durable (solid should be more durable than open). Hell with the tires out of balance, and 264K on the clock, its not like I will be likely to notice. Seems like the M3 bushings are a bit on the overkill side for DD use, I dont need more stability in the steering, and as the car will likely never be tracked, The added PITA of getting them properly aligned doesnt seem worth it. I had pretty much already decided on the E36 bushings, but was curious if anyone here was running them, and to make sure the lollipop was the same ID before I sit there kicking and screaming trying to press the fuckers in.
