Brake Booster Check Valve

So I have a 325e with a hose going from the intake(plenum) to the booster. There is a single check valve that is setup so air can go into the booster, but not out. The pedal is very firm. Is my check valve backwards? It seems correct, maybe my booster is bad.

Th check valve is supposed to allow air to move from the booster into the intake, but not the other way. If it works otherwise the valve is faulty or reversed.
