with worn pads you have grooves in them, it will take time before you wear the rotors, and pads so that there is no gap between them. also lots of people are asking how to compress the caliper:
pop the bleed screw loose, they actually make a special tool to compress them but you can use either a huge pipe wrench OR two large flat head screw drivers and do it with the caliper is still bolted to the car and pry them in.
oh for future reference: dont change the rotors and not the pads.
