    Front Cross member Reinforcement

For the shot story read the text in bold
Well I just picked up my first e30 24v candidate and its ugly side is beginning to show. Not surprising for the price I paid in fact I had half expected the engine to grenade on the drive home. Anyways on to the problem, on the way home I get a rattle that I hadn't heard on the test drive. I stop and see that the sway is not attached to the frame, I think the bolt was loose and the bracket fell, but no.
The sway bar mounting tab on the front subframe was broken off.
So I picked up an engine crossmember from a local junkyard. I plan to brace the engine and drop the entire front suspension so I can do a large amount of work at once (Springs, sways, camber plates, possibly some billy sports if $$$ allows)
Since I'm adding some stiffer suspension and have a 24v swap in the works I want to make sure the same thing doesn't happen 2k miles down the road. Turner Kit? AKG kit? What are your suggestions on reinforcing the front subframe?
Edit: found this thread but would like to see some more/different solutions

    Thanks again

Either the Turner or AKG kit will work fine to box up the engine mount ears on the front subframe. The AKG kit has pre-bent lower plates which makes it easier to weld. However, for a 24v swap, you'll need to clearance the lower plate in order to allow a wrench to get into the boxed area to tighten the lower nut, as the mounts are oriented in reverse. That is, the threaded post goes in the outer hole, and the alignment dowel goes in the slotted hole.

At the same time, welding the AKG subframe tabs is a no-brainer, though some swaybars come with reinforcement tabs that also work.
