    subframe bushing sleeve?

    am i suppose to reuse the bushing sleeves? the bushings i picked up from bavarian autosport are just a chunk of rubber with with the aluminum pole running down the middle and i know there has to be something else to this.

    i got lazy and paid to get the bushings punched out and he tore up the metal inserts that i think i need to put the new bushings in.

    i'm thinking of returning these stock bushings i have and upgrading since i have to send back a diff bushing as well and all of which will be about the price of some upgraded parts.

    let me know, thanks.

    The stock bushing has rubber on the outside of the aluminum sleeve. You are NOT to reuse anything, except maybe the washer at the top.

    And as someone who is getting ready to remove brand new poly subframe bushings from the car, I suggest sticking with stock.

      well the bushing came out with a metal ring around it so i think i just got screwed. :(

      where do i get a pair of these?

      here's a pic of what it looks like now:

      before i took it up there, there was a metal sleeve between the rubber and the outer part (what you see here) that had a lip on it.

      i found a pic of what i'm missing. notice the metal sleeves the bushings (the ones in the middle in the back) are kinda sitting in/on:

          OE subframe bushings have an outer metal sleeve bonded to the bushing rubber. Poly bushings don't have or need that sleeve. You haven't told us what bushings you are installing.

          For an IPB of the relevant parts, see: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...13&hg=33&fg=30

            yea, i just found that out. why didn't anyone just say that the sleeve i was needing is actually molded into the rubber in the new bushings?
