Quick Question For Sensor on the Brake

Hey what is the sensor on the brake? ive got an 86es and it has 2 sensors on each side. Also have an 87E and it has none. What Does the Sensors DO?

On the left front and right rear wheels there should be a brake pad wear sensor. Both of those cars should have a wheel speed sensor for ABS on each wheel.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

oh. so car wont work properly? if its not on?

the reason why is i need to take the struts off the es and put it on the e.
but. the struts wont come off the strut housing on the es.. that nut that holds the strut and strut housing together ..

so i was deciding just to swap the strut housing

If the ABS sensors are missing from the es, you can use the ones from the e. The car will work fine w/o the pad wear sensors or the speed sensors. You just won't have a working ABS and the brake pad warning light will be on.

As far as I know, the es car should have had ABS, but then there could have been parts swaps in the past that resulted in non-ABS parts being in the car. The clue will be the mounting holes in the hubs where the ABS sensors should mount.
