    School me on stock brakes

There is an 86 ETA at the pnp that I have been looking at. I have an M10 car so I know that anything will be a better brake upgrade for me.

My question is are the late model brakes any better than the early car brakes? Both have vented rotors up front and solid out the back. Also what are the differences between Girling and ATE performance wise?

I've heard the track guys prefer ate calipers, but I dont think that there is any real difference

Thank you mods for the thread relocation, I wasn't paying much attention.

the ate's can use brass bushings (hence the track prefrence); which are in no way pratical for street use (need constant cleaning and lubing). To be honest I've had both on my car (girling's and ate's) can't say I noticed a big difference between the two...

Thanks, I was looking for little things like that.

a fresh rebuild will be perfectly find even for moderate track use...while you're at it, change to a quality brake fluid and pad. There are a few threads on this on here with recommendations for pads and such. Give Rob at UUC a shout to be schooled beyond your wildest dreams on brake systems.
