    control arms

what's everyone running and which are the best deal monetarily?

    #2
In my opinion the best deal is Lemforder arms. They aren't the cheapest, but they last the longest and thus have the lowest life cycle cost.

On the subject of the lower control arms (front passenger side only) my outer ball joint is starting to wiggle pretty loose and I was thinking of replacing the entire LCA rather than just the ball joint itself. Is it necessary and/or recommended to replace the mounting bushings as well? I understand they come in a set of 2 but I assume they are for both left and right CAs? In this case, would I only need one bushing? Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

Except in the case of accident damage, both control arms should be replaced at the same time (along with their bushings).

I can't speak as to longevity of any parts as I've not had anything on the road yet, but truthfully everyone says lemforder, lemforder, lemforder, but with other manufacturers offering life time warranties for less money....seems like a good option. Granted the warranty has some pretty tight specifics, but none the less it is out there.

I am running Ocap control arms. According to some uninformed forum people, I should be planning my own funeral for when they break in half.

I have never heard of anyone having any issues with any brand of control arms except some of the no-name ebay arms, and then, its just the ball joints that do not last as long.

I have no complaints about the Meyle arms. I've put them on a few cars.

                        What about these?

They come with poly bushing, but I was also wondering about the m3 offset ones. I am running GC coilovers, would they give me too much camber? Or should I get the tree house ones?

Factory steel arms for the 1995 e36 M3.

Regarding Lemforder. I have been to a Taiwan/China trade show and seen many fake Lemforder e30 M3 arms with my own eyes.

Probably from the same people who make the Goochi purses.

I did not know these fit on an e30. If you use them, do you also use the e36 m3 CAB's, and if so can they be the offset bushings? Thanks.
