Another "will Porsche brakes work" tread

I have many Porsche calipers lying around 951,968 and C2 calipers that are going up for sale unless anyone knows if with the correct rotor and bracket for our E30's. I am surprised that someone by now hasn't come up with a kit. I fitted each on up and it appears that the calipers from a 951 might work. Anyone!!?

If not then Massive it is!! This winter. I wonder if they might go on sale. Hint Lee :)

Any caliper will work for the most part as long as you get your mounting brackets right.
Its all about centering them over the rotor and making sure you get the right amount of pad penetration.

Custom aluminum hatted rotors would be the way to take full advantage of this.

Also just an fyi Mov-It produced an e30 M3 kit utilizing the Porsche 993 911tt calipers.

There are many factors to take in consideration when swapping brakes from a car to another.

          1- Rotors thickness
          2- Annulus (friction height)
          3- Piston size

Anything else is just the usual. ;-)

As far as specials. I will announce this week some special pricing on the 300x32mm kit as I was able to have a good size batch made at a slightly lower price. Most likely free BP20 street pads and free slotting.

The 300x21mm discs have evolved into a thicker disc for even higher resistance to heat. I may have a few 21mm rotors left though. I still have hats produced this summer and don't foresee making more before Christmas, so no special pricing on these.

Unless 5 buddies set-up a grouped order for 5 sets...

BTW The 300x22mm kit comes with fixed rotor and costs only $1050.00usd and I wonder if there's a market to apply the same floating system as found in the 300x33mm and 332x32mm kits... for an extra $150.00usd. Kit would be priced the same as the 300x32mm kit at $1199.00usd

Custom 300x22mm disc with stepped friction surface. That's a $140 disc if purchased from Wilwood. and it will be only 21mm thick. ;-)

Floating system from the 300x32mm kit. Could be adapted to the 300x22mm kit.

I have Porsche calipers on my car front and rear. Call Movit. Or talk to Lee who will probably be cheaper and a better kit.

The C2 calipers could work, but you need to factor-in all the info we discussed in a previous post. Also, pads are usually so tall that you may have problems finding rotors that fit them. Not to mention that they are quite thick.

                      Are they like these:

                      Usually around 3" tall (76mm)
