Good help is hard to find.

Seriously though, I don't think you could make a solid one for the girling, the design of it wouldn't allow it. The guide compresses, you couldn't do that with solid one.

Have you taken a good look at you calipers? Do you see rubber guides in there on the Girlings? Oh, a rubber dust boot, yea, but the guide itself?

Yup, that's what I thought, the design is completely different.

Can one just swap out for ATE calipers or are other parts needed?......

You can swap girlings for ATE calipers you just need the new calipers and the pad carriers. I would do both sides.
