BBK on a non abs car

Serious question. Can a fairly light car with no abs take advantage of a bbk, or will it just result in higher chances of wheel lock-up?

I've been driving and autocrossing my car for the last 4 years w/o abs, I know or have learned where the limit is but will upgrading to let's say Lee's BBK make things worse or not?

    thanks

I have no ABS, definitely still enjoying big brakes front and rear.

The wheel lock-ups will depend on a-) unbalance and b-) driver's stuborness to on/off brake. ABS/non-ABS has nothing to do with your disc/caliper size. My 1969 BMW 2002 has BBKs at both ends, and no ABS. In fact, many racers will prefer no ABS as the early version that is found on the e30 is a basic version of a great system. It can even impede your braking. e36 and e46 have much better ABS. Pick the right brake pads and you are in business.

The above statement applies to any make of BBK.

I haven't had any locking issue due to the BBK, in theory be easier to modulate the brakes so that you don't lock up.

^^^ Good point here. Spongy brakes are usually on/off and more prone to locking up, while stiffer brakes allow way better modulation, and less risks of locking up. With stiffer calipers, you really feel what your brake pads are doing.

Could be fun. Let me think about it.

I already have "no shit" on some small ones.
