I just got some hawk ceramic pads, I ordered some brembo drilled and slotted front rotors and hopefully I can get some TMS brake lines and get them installed within a few weeks. I havent heard anything about hawk ceramic pads around here, i picked mine up for 60 at the tire rack.

Axxis Ultimates are awesome brake pads, cold, warm, and hot. I have even run them on the track and they held up.
Dust like a bitch and get noisy from time to time.

not a fan of the Hawks.

Hawk Ceramic pads are terrible on a street car--bite is awful. Had them on my wife's E30 cause a vendor recommended them for longevity and low dust. She mentioned to me a couple of times that she had a hard time stopping short when someone would pull out in front of her, but I thought she was exaggerating--until I just about rear-ended an SUV on the expressway. Switched over to Hawk HPS and we're both much happier now.

        What have you experienced?

Basically, nothing will feel "good" in E30 brakes other than the HP+. I'm experimenting with a set of the Stoptech Street performance pads right now (wore out my HP+) and they seem to be tolerable.

But again, the nature of the HP+ is that it should NEVER be used on track because it will feel awesome right up to the point when you have no brakes at all.

I can vouch for HP+ being awesome on the street. I love the crap out of mine. They are certainly very noisy at times though.

HP+ work great, great bite, but damn do they squeak a lot. I took them off for street use. For Auto-x do you really brake that much? I'd just run good quality street pads.

Well that's not good, but I guess I'll see (or hear) how bad it is. It's always a trade-off though, and I'd rather have the stopping power over squeaking.
