I am buying a bmw e30 shortly and im swapping in a 5.3L v8 from a chevy into it. My friend who is very knowledgeble (sp) with these kinds of things is helping me. We needed to to figure out whether we were going to move the brake booster to the front of the engine bay, or fabricate something to fit. We then came up with getting a VW transporter van (hippie van) brake booster and seeing if theres enough room under the dash. Now heres the question and problem. I have to get this stuff shipped to me and fast! Is there enough room under the dash for a brakebooster? Now remember the VW bus one is compact because the firewall was only a few inches from the front of the bus. Any and all help is appreciated.

I rather think that there's not enough room between the pedal and firewall. I want to say that with the pedal fully depressed there's about 2", but I'd have to go out in the cold to find out for sure. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I'd think that would be incredibly difficult to get right.
The easiest thing of all might be to go to manual brakes.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

not a chance that will fit without insane modification to the dash and pedals.
I'd look into hydroboost or a E34 V8 booster setupComment
