rattling brake pads....any ideas

at the end of a day at gingerman raceway, i switched back to my street pads (axxis ultimates). the next day i heard this rattling only going over large bumps. after inspection, it appears that the outer left brake pad ends are vibrating withing the backing plate slots. i also noticed that the retaining spring clips that go on the outside of the backing plates were missing......i think thats the culprit.

e36 brakes by the way.

its driving me nuts. any thoughts?

its just the clips missing dude. replace them. make sure they are seated well. i just tore up a 17" double spoke 10 when 1 front clip came loose and sounded like a playing card in your spokes as a kid. totally gouged it up
