Using opened ATE super blue fluid.

Sooo I have a half a can of super blue leftover from last year when I flushed my brakes. I haven't opened the container since, would the volume of air in the container contain enough water to contaminate the fluid?

I guess the simple answer would be don't be such a cheap ass, go buy a new can for this year, right?

Well you seem to have answered your own question.

On my own cars I will only use a brand new un opened can. on others cars a can that has been opened but capped for less than 6 months I consider fine to use. Anything left uncapped for anything longer than a day is junk.

          Lol @ Matt.

The Fluid in you MC reservoir is constantly in contact with air. No big deal.

Super blue is a huge PITA anyway. It stains everything!

I usually run ATF in my brakes, more lubricating.

The answer is that it depends, if it is only a street car then I would have no issues using 6 month old fluid, if it is a track car then I would get a new bottle and use the opened stuff for the daily.

The container is as sealed as it was when I bought it, the only humidity in it is what is contained in the volume of air inside the container. It just seems like a shame to throw away that much brake fluid.

Fuck it I'll get new stuff.
